STATE GUIDANCE ON FURTHER REOPENING 

Governor Newsom release guidance documents for reopening 12 sectors including schools, gyms, bars, day camps, campgrounds and professional sporting events with modifications starting next Friday June 12, 2020. 

The rules on schools and day camps will apply statewide. But only counties that have met certain thresholds on the number of cases, testing and preparedness will be allowed to start reopening the other sectors. The state’s guidance will also include rules on hotels, casinos, museums, zoos and aquariums and the resumption of music, film and television production.

The County of Los Angeles is reviewing the guidance documents and will determine if and how to implement each one. An amended Health Officer Order is required to allow these activities to reopen. More information to come next week.  The guidance documents from California Department of Public Health can be found visiting: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Guidance.aspx

REMINDERS IF PROTESTING 

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health asks anyone participating in demonstrations to practice physical distancing and wear face coverings to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 

There is a risk that these gatherings can become super-spreader events where a great deal of transmission of the COVID-19 virus can occur. Everyone engaging in peaceful protest should always wear a face covering over their nose and mouth and keep six feet apart from others not in your household.
