This includes:
· Bookstores
· Florists
· Toy Stores
· Music Stores
· Clothing Stores
· Sporting Goods Stores

Please remember that you truly are safer at home. Just because businesses are re-opening, the COVID-19 threat is still present, and the risk to our communities remains high. Every single one of us has a critical role to play in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Remember to follow physical distancing requirements and wear a face-covering whenever you are in close contact with others*.
*Exception: Children under the age of two and those individuals with chronic respiratory conditions or other medical conditions that make use of a face-mask hazardous are exempted from this requirement.
LOCAL AUTHORITY: WHAT LOCAL GOVERNMENT CAN DO
All South Bay Cities MUST comply with the State and County Orders related to the conditional re-opening of businesses. While we hear your frustrations and understand your concerns, the easing of restrictions to non-essential businesses is determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The City can implement more stringent orders based on regional concerns; however, it cannot implement anything less than what the Health Officer’s Orders address.
LOCAL TRAILS REMAINED CLOSED: COUNTY OPERATED TRAILS OPEN
Although some county trails will re-open May 8, 2020, please note that all trails in Palos Verdes Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, including the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, are not managed by Los Angeles County and will not be ready for re-opening on this date. For a list of County Operated trails, please visit https://trails.lacounty.gov/Prepare.
SOUTH BAY BEACHES REMAINED CLOSED: REOPENING NEXT WEEK
All South Bay Beaches remained closed, including the Strand along Manhattan and Hermosa Beach. The Beach Cities are working closely with the Department of Public Health to get approval for a limited re-opening of their beaches. The details on the re-opening, access points, allowed activities, and hours of operations are being discussed and finalized. As indicated by the Department of Public Health, we can expect a partial re-opening sometime next week. An announcement will be made as the information becomes available. We thank our communities for their continued support and patience as we determine how we work with our area partner agencies to re-open our beaches in a way that provides for limited exposure to our communities.
