LA County Variance Approved by Governor
The State of California today approved LA County’s request for a variance to start moving deeper into Stage 2 and Stage 3 of Recovery. The County has met the necessary public health thresholds to safely allow critical sectors of the economy and community to begin serving residents. Under the variance, the following are permitted to open immediately:
Barbershops and Hair Salons: One client at a time, masks must be worn.
In-person dining in restaurants: 60% of occupancy for the next three weeks.

Health Officer Order Amendments May 26, 2020
In addition to the above, the Health Officer Order amended May 26, 2020, allowed for the resumption of the following:
Faith-Based Organizations: Faith-based organizations may resume services, with the number of congregants limited to less than 25% of the building's capacity, or a maximum of 100 people, whichever is lower.
Indoor & Outdoor Retail Shopping Centers: All indoor and outdoor retail shopping centers may open for business at 50% capacity.
Flea Markets, Swap Meets & Drive-Ins: All flea markets, swap meets, and drive-in movie theaters may also resume operations.
Pools, Hot Tubs, and Saunas: Pools, hot tubs, and saunas in a multi-unit residence or part of a homeowner's association may also be open.
Public Protests: Individuals may participate in an in-person protest as long as attendance is limited to 25% of the area's maximum occupancy, or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower.
Under the revised Health Officer Order, the following are still closed:
Gyms and fitness centers
Nail Salons, Spa Services (including massage, facials and waxing)
Beach piers
Indoor entertainment venues including arcades, bowling alleys, movie theaters, live performance theaters, concert halls, stadiums, arenas, theme parks, gaming facilities, and festivals
Indoor museums, galleries, and zoos
