STATE LIFTS RESTRICTIONS-LA COUNTY BACK TO PURPLE TIER

The State lifted the Regional Stay At Home Order. It returned each County to its associated tier under the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Los Angeles County, along with the majority of the State is in the most restrictive purple tier. With the lifting of the Regional Stay At Home Order, the Los Angeles County Health Officer Order will align with sector openings permitted in the purple tier based on three metrics: the county’s adjusted case rate, the county’s testing positivity rate, and the county’s health equity metric.

The following is allowed with adherence to all of the sector-specific directives to ensure distancing, wearing of face coverings, and infection control:

  • Private gatherings outdoors up to 3 households and up to a total of 15 people

  • Museums, zoos, aquariums outdoor operations at 50% occupancy

  • Cardrooms outdoor operations at 50% occupancy

  • Miniature golf, go-karts, batting cages outdoor operations at 50% occupancy

  • Outdoor recreational activities are open.

  • Hotels & motels for tourism and individual travel allowed. However if you are traveling from outside LA County, the 10-day self-isolation is still required.

  • Fitness facilities open for outdoor operations

  • Personal care services open indoors at 25% capacity.

  • Indoor mall, shopping center, lower-risk retail open at 25% indoor capacity; food courts and common areas closed.

LA COUNTY INCORPORATING THE STATE'S NEW APPT. REGISTRATION PLATFORM: HOW AND WHEN TO GET VACCINATED

Los Angeles County's COVID-19 Vaccine website, VaccinateLACounty.com, has incorporated the State's new appointment registration platform, MyTurn. The registration system features a streamlined process for residents eligible to receive the vaccine. Those who are registered can receive alerts when new appointments become available or when vaccinations are allowed for additional priority groups. Currently, MyTurn will make appointments for the County's five large capacity sites and two other County-operated vaccination sites. Appointments for other locations, including pharmacies and clinics, are also available. Proof of residence is required as well as an appointment.

To book an appointment, please click here. Residents who don’t have computer access may call (833) 540-0473 between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. or 2-1-1 for assistance with appointments.

LA County is currently in Tier 1B. Only those who fall into Tier IA and IB, Phase 1 (65 years and older), can register to receive vaccine appointments. This may change under the State's new vaccine distribution plan, but this is the best information we have to date. Please be patient. Supply is extremely limited.

There are five super vaccination sites open in La County. They are listed below:

If you have received your first dose, you will be getting an email with your second dose appointment. The chart below summarizes the dose allocation dates and locations.

Vaccinations are free and available to all, regardless of immigration status or insurance coverage. For those who have insurance, coverage information may be requested as part of the appointment scheduling process.

Please be patient if there are no available appointments when you first visit the County's website. Appointments are continually being added, and more vaccination sites are scheduled to open in the coming weeks.

Tips to make your vaccine appointment:

  • Check the County's website early in the morning. It seems like appointments are released sometime during the night or check periodically throughout the day.

  • Appointments are continually being added, so be vigilant, especially if you hope to get vaccinated at a specific location.

  • You do not need to go back to the same location to receive your second dose. Just make sure you are accepting the same type of vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna).

  • Some locations have phone numbers to call if you have specific questions about disability parking or other needs. You should make the appointment, confirm it, and then call to see if you can get your questions answered.

Tips for vaccination locations:

  • The closest county megapod is The Forum, 3900 W Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90305.

  • Crenshaw Clinic: Parking is not available on W 79th (it is blocked off). Drive-up Normandie and park on the street (Vermont has testing site traffic, this location is testing and providing vaccinations).

  • Dodger Stadium: This is a drive-through location where you remain in your vehicle. There are usually lots of appointments available here.

To find out when you will be eligible for a vaccine appointment, please click here.
